Fasten your seatbelts, because we're going on a Bonanza adventure. And there's a lot to unpack here – this online slot game from Big Time Gaming has got all kinds of things going on.
The first thing is that while Bonanza can be played on computers and portable devices, we wouldn't recommend anything smaller than a decent sized tablet. The background design is intricate and takes up a large portion of the screen. And in addition to that, each reel space has quite a busy background as well. You're going to want all the screen space you can get to play this.
Secondly, just go ahead right now and mute the music. It's a deal breaker otherwise. But that's easy enough to do via the blue menu box right next to your stake controls on the lower left-hand side.
Now, let's get to the actual gameplay. There are six reels, and each reel can show from two to as many as seven symbols for any spin. In addition, just above the reel grid is a unique feature – four symbols, each on their own mining cart, come through a tunnel on the cliff that serves as the background. They stop above the second, third, fourth and fifth reels, and serve as helpers to what is showing below, filling in when needed to get you a win.
There are playing card letters and numbers (10-J-Q-K-A) as well as gem stones, and you'll also see gold bricks with the letters G, O, L and D. If you get all four on a spin, it activates 12 free spins. Each win during this feature increases the multiplier. There's also a wild symbol that shows up in the mining carts above that is a box of dynamite.
Lastly, be focused because the winning combinations are highlighted and disappear fast, replaced by new symbols for additional ways to win for each spin.
One thing we don't think we've seen anywhere else is the time, which is in a small black box in the upper left-hand corner. This is so helpful.
