Boxo, an online game from the innovative creators at Leander, is part slot machine and part Tic-Tac-Toe (or Noughts and Crosses, as some people call it). But no matter the name, players have the chance to win big with this deceptively simple gaming experience.

Set against a charming background of a cherry blossom tree in full bloom and a swirling hillside, Boxo's interface is shaped like a temple. Several control buttons are incorporated into the temple's rooftop architecture, and a winning line receives elegant red WIN flags. Below the grid you'll find a beautifully designed dashboard and a smiling creature.

There are three reels of three rows each, which isn't the standard configuration for slots – but the 3x3 grid is perfect for the Tic-Tac-Toe theme of the symbols. You'll find gleaming silver Xs and lucky gold coin Os as those symbols, and there is only one pay line.

The winning combination is three gold coin Os or three Xs along the win line, with different jackpots. There is also a color combination that can be won, when three boxes of the same color have the same symbol as well – or no symbol at all. The color reel is above the gameplay reel, and spins independently to reveal the winning color. A Golden Multiplier can also appear, staying on the reel in subsequent spins to increase the chance of a match with a 1x, 3x or 5x multiplier.

Boxo may not be the most action-packed or exciting slot game in the Leander portfolio, but it is beautifully designed, relaxing, and there's lots to look at while you play.
