Betsoft has combined two popular genres of slot machine design – the pirate theme and the retro theme – to bring our players Captain Cash. Hoist your pirate flag, grab your parrot, stick your peg leg on and let's sail away on this adventure together.
The game has three reels and three rows set in a completely realistic-looking old-school slot machine frame. It comes with the pay table up top, the gameplay area on the slanted middle part, and then down below decks we've got our action buttons, which actually depress and light up when they're tapped.
Icons include treasure chests, treasure maps; one, two or three bars; and pirate flags.
The gruff old Captain Cash is wild. It can substitute for any icon you need to make a win. And that's the extent of the features here. Because this is a retro game, it doesn't have the usual whistles, horns and bells you find on the latest titles. (Although it does have the actual whistles, horns, and bells of a standard old slot machine!) There are no cut scenes, bonus screens, scatters, animated characters, or anything else to distract players from spinning to win.
There are five pay lines, which is quite generous for a one-armed bandit machine design. These light up as well, just like the old slots in Vegas used to do.The minimum bet is .02 credits, and the maximum is 15 credits per spin. You can adjust your bet lines three ways – using the red number on the left corner, pressing “Bet One” to spin, or pressing “Bet Max” to spin. But even though there's a place for it on the screen, Captain Cash doesn't actually take paper currency!
