NetEnt is known for its excellent gameplay architecture, but lots of times, the look and design of their games tend towards the traditional. And then there's Egg-O-Matic. With this new title in NetEnt's portfolio, they're flexing their design muscles and have delivered to players a wonderfully quirky, fun, and ultimately exciting slot machine experience.
Sure, on paper, the game is standard – the grid has five reels, three rows and 20 pay lines. But that is where the similarity ends. The reels set the scene for the game, which is kind of like a mix of Angry Birds and steampunk aesthetic with 3D detail and lots of whimsy. There's a little bit of Fallout 4 in there as well, to our delight!
Icons include brown, lavender, green, yellow, and red chicks, a white and red rooster and a blue rooster. They're all robotic, and they all reside on wires in a factory setting, powered by the Egg-O-Matic machine to the right of the screen. The dashboard is a control board, with big buttons that don't spin the reels so much as activate the factory's mechanisms.
A metal rooster is the wild card, and can substitute for any other icons needed to make a win. When it is triggered, an egg will pop out onto the conveyor belt above the reels. This egg can be one of many choices:
The Spreading Wild egg turns all icons next to and diagonal from the wild, and turns them all into wilds, too.
The Free Spins egg activates at least seven free spins, and with additional triggering, can be as high as 50 free spins.
Coin Win eggs award cash prizes from 50 to 2,500 coins (on level 1).
Surprise Egg! This will be one of the above bonuses.
