Event Horizon, the no-download slot machine game from Betsoft, is heavily inspired by the spate of “high tech” movies that came out in the 1980s. You know which ones I mean – they take a big cue from the groovy deep blues and purples from disco, add some old-time computer font, and a lot of glow-from-behind effects, and boom – a look that would have inspired Marty McFly to travel Back to the Future. And you can tell Betsoft is proud of the vibe they're giving off here, with multiple sound, graphics and animation settings available to the player.
The minimum bet is .5 credits. The maximum bet is 100 credits per spin. Choose your coin value, the bet per line, the maximum bet, and auto play options. There are 243 ways to win, but strangely, we couldn't find a pay table – even under the “View Pays” tab. Payouts are from left to right.
The game has five reels and three rows. Icons include ten, jack, queen, king, and ace, plus a single bar, double bar, triple bar, bells, cherries, and big red sevens. The “royals” pay from three to 40 coins, while the themed symbols pay from 10 to 1,000 coins.
There are two main features during gameplay. One is the Wild Planet icon, which is a glowing sphere that looks like a naked disco ball. It can become any icon you need to make a win.
The second is Synced Reel Feature. This causes two or three reels to become the same reel and spin at the same time. That gives you guaranteed two or three of the icons you need to make a win. This feature is triggered randomly.
