Gem Rocks

Yggdrasil has designed a great animated slot machine game called Gem Rocks, and it's bringing players from near and far to try their chances at winning – and with 4096 ways to win and coin denominations in fractions of a penny, it's sure to entertain all types of players.

There are six reels and four rows on this fame. Three matching symbols on connecting reels is a win. With multipliers, additional matching symbols equal more wins, depending on how many you get on each connecting reel. All wins have to be left to right.

With each winning combination, those tiles go up in flames and the rest drop down on their respective reels. We love this feature. It makes the wins really add up, in our experience.

After two, five, and nine straight wins of matching symbols, the Monster Rock comes out to play! He takes up a 2x2 square of the grid for two wins, 3x3 for five wins, and 4x4 for nine wins. Monster Rock all but guarantees wins, so make sure to say hi when you see him.

As for the rest of the gameplay, the sound was good. We were listening to a podcast while playing it, and we thought the music was part of the podcast! So it's not intrusive at all. There is also the great feature of setting up parameters for stopping auto play, a favorite among players.

The design of the game integrates the reels, the background, the Monster Rock meter and the user interface, so it's all one look for the player. This makes it better to look at on smaller screens, like mini tablets and smart phones.
