Golden Dragon

Golden Dragon is yet another entry in the Chinese themed slot machine world, this time being Microgaming's interpretation. But far from delving into the culture and immersing the player in an ancient world, the golden dragon merely serves as (admittedly pretty fantastic) art on what is the interface of a traditional video slot machine, like the kind you find in a brick-and-mortar casino.

So, what does that look like? Well, the actual reels take up only about a quarter of the screen. The rest is the Golden Dragon logo, plus two pay tables – one for the regular symbols of  single, double and triple bars as well as a shield with two swords on it, and one for the dragon symbols.

The controls for the game are at the bottom of the screen, and include the number of credits you have, a plus and minus sign for raising or lowering your bet, a fast-track button for betting just one coin as well as for betting the maximum, and of course, the spin button. Above that, you'll see what your total bet is for each spin, and how much you've won on your most recent spin.

Other than that, the game is pretty self-explanatory thanks to the highly visible pay tables. You can win as little as four coins for any bars on the center line, all the way up to 80 coins for three sword-and-shield symbols. And for the dragon's head, you can win anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 coins. Now, granted, that's on a one-coin bet, so your real strategy is to adjust your bets for each spin depending on how lucky you feel.
