El Dorado, The Golden King, was a myth that evolved from a tribal chief who covered himself in gold to the legendary city of gold and jewels, lost to the world and the object of so many explorers' obsession. This story, beloved by the world over, as well as the explorer Gonzalo Pizzaro, are the inspiration for Gonzo's Quest.
Before we get into the description of what the player will experience, a caveat - the sound effects are woefully basic. But don't let that stop you. After all, you can always mute the sound and crank the tunes while you have your fun along with Gonzo.
That being said, from the start you see the difference with Gonzo's Quest. While the same standards of video slots apply - 15 spaces on the field of play to try your luck - they're not reels and rows so much as falling blocks of ancient symbols, reminiscent of those from the famous, and mysterious, lost civilizations of South America.
Free spins are called free falls. Matching symbols are cleared by exploding into bits, while the rest of the blocks stay, almost like in Tetris. Your multipliers are shown up in the upper right-hand corner.
The grid and sleek betting dashboard is crisp and clear, making it perfect for playing slots on mobile devices like your phone or tablet. And you won't want to miss the animations, with Gonzo on the left-hand side of the screen, cheering you on and hat tosses and fist pumping as he closely watches each spin.
