Gamevy has signaled the possible future of online gaming interfaces with The Link. It's a slot game in that it has different symbols and a reel-like playing action. But everything else about The Link is like nothing you've ever seen.
Whether you are annoyed by busy-looking slots, you want a simple game for a mobile device, or you're an absolute minimalist, The Link is going to be your new favorite slot game.
Instead of five reels of three rows each, The Link has three reels by three rows, and there is no grid or squares for each spot. The entire background is black night with a few stars, including behind the reels. So while the they do "spin," there is no three-dimensional animation. They really are just falling from the top of the screen.
And not only that – all the controls disappear during spins, so you will see only the symbols as they fall past. They only reappear after each spin and when a match is made, a bright beam of light shows the winning combination.
The controls look more like those for an upscale mobile phone app than what we're used to seeing in the gaming world. The "dashboard" – again, it's so different we don't know what to call it – is on the right-hand side, and includes one enormous Spin icon and a basic betting control. On the left are the other controls, plus an icon for a full-screen experience.
The gameplay symbols are minimal and basic as well, including a red triangle, white diamond, blue square, green circle, purple X, and a yellow star – the only one that is askew and shows a 3D shape. That's because it's the Wild symbol.
All this minimalism leaves the player to concentrate on big wins, including multipliers up to 1,000 x to 5,000x. Give The Link a try – it is revolutionary.
