There are standard and themed symbols in Lightning Horseman. The standard icons include ace, king, queen, and jack. The themed icons are a raven, a covered bridge, a man holding a lantern, a lady in a red cape who looks exactly like Olivia Newton-John for some reason, and a treasure chest overflowing with gold and jewels.

A horse is the wild card and can substitute for anything you need to make a win – except the scatter, of course. The lightning bolt is the scatter.

You will need at least six scatters on the reels – as opposed to three in normal games – for only a measly three free spins. But those six (or more) lightning bolts are held on the screen, and any additional lightning bolts that appear in subsequent spins will reset the counter back to three free spins. This goes on until you collect 15 lightning bolts on the screen, or get a spin without a new lightning bolt. At that point, the lightning bolts will flip over and show you your winnings.
