Untamed Wolf Pack is an older title in the Microgaming catalogue, dating back to 2012. But even with so many advances in the last few years, it has remained one of our favorite video slot games, and we come back to it again and again. It's clear from the start that Microgaming knows video slots.
The game contains five reels and three rows set in an icy silver grid with the background of the Alaskan wilderness. There are 243 ways to win; they pay out left to right for adjacent symbol combinations. Multiple winning combinations are awarded per way, with a max payout of 180,000 coins. This is a medium-variance game with a 96.17% return to player ratio.
Icons include ten, jack, queen, king, and ace, plus themed icons like wolf cubs (so cute!), a mountain vista, a mighty elk, and a majestic grey wolf.
When three to five scatters appear you'll trigger 10 free spins. The scatter is a wolf's eye. During your free spins the number of Running Wilds on the reels will grow with each spin, giving you a greater chance of winning. Speaking of which, the wolf's eye may “peek out” from the reels and give you a Lucky Nudge, triggering the free spins feature.
Whenever you have gotten an Untamed Wolf Pack wild card, it activated the wild icon displayed beneath the wheel. Collect four of these wild icons, and you'll be playing on the house with four free spins.
The Your Gamble feature happens after a winning spin. This isn't with playing cards, but with a meter that shows lose to win variants, with a needle in the center. If the needle lands on the green, you win whenever is shown in the “Gamble to Win” box. Red is Lose, and you've lost the amount gambled. You can adjust how much you gamble in this feature, though, and when you press BANK you'll save half your bet no matter what happens.
